I’ve been playing around with my WordPress theme for the past few days, so if you stumble across the blog and everything looks different or you can’t find something, let me know in the comments.
I’m looking for a theme that is a bit more minimalist, a 2-column design (rather than 3), and something that handles tables well. I would also like for the sidebar to be a bit wider than it is now (under the theme I’ve been using). I’m open to suggestions if any of you are familiar with WordPress or themes in general.
So, pardon my mess. I’ll get things cleaned up around here shortly.
I don’t know if this is a temporary thing, or maybe a browser issue for me, but, assuming I’m seeing things the way I’m supposed to see them, the silver text on the beige background isn’t the easiest thing in the world to read.
Yeah, I would tend to agree. I really haven’t found anything I like yet, which is surprising because there are so many themes out there. About 80% of them try to make your blog look like some rap star’s Myspace page, and the rest have one of a number of things I don’t like:
1. No support for page links on the top bar.
2. More than one sidebar
3. A narrow fixed width for content
4. A narrow width for the sidebar (I want that FanGraphs search thing and the entire names of my blogroll links to fit).
I was reading yesterday about a theme generator that someone made, and I’ll probably check that out later today.
Okay, I tried the WP Theme Generator and wasn’t very happy, so I’m sticking with this one. I did manage to hack it to make the text easier to read, though. Maybe one day down the road I’ll stumble across the perfect theme.
