Bisons fall at UNA

Harding played without starting point guard Steven Barnett in last night’s 99-84 loss at North Alabama. Barnett is attending his grandfather’s funeral, and he will be unavailable for tomorrow’s game as well. I’d like to pass along my best wishes as well, and I’m sure the team missed him on the floor.Kevin Brown started in place of Barnett, moving Trent Morgan into the point guard slot. Morgan played 36 minutes and had the second highest game score on the team at 10.8. Brown led the way in scoring with 19 points and a 15.4 game score. Matt Hall, the usual team leader, played 26 minutes and scored only 13 points, marking the first time this season that he wasn’t the scoring leader. Coach Morgan sat him with two fouls in the early going, which is something he has consistently done in the past.

Defense was nowhere to be seen for either team. The Bisons allowed a very high 129.6 efficiency rating to the Lions while not playing poorly on offense themselves. Both teams shot over 60% in true shooting percentage, with UNA doing more of their damage from the outside.

Below are the team stats for the game:

[TABLE=42]

I’m trying not to lower my expectations for this team, since I still think they’re very talented. Hopefully they can pull out a big win at UAH, as I plan to be there rooting them on.

I’ll have a full recap of tomorrow night’s game on Sunday, so have a great weekend.
