This has nothing to do with today’s chart, but Melissa and I have been married for three years today. Obviously she’s pretty special, since she puts up with all my sports stuff.
The chart below in no way represents anything related to our anniversary, so don’t read too much into it. What it does represent is the NL East standings by day in 2009.
Last night’s game was something else, wasn’t it? The Braves are over .500 again and certainly staying within striking distance of the division leaders. Not that it really matters all that much in early June, but at least they’re not looking like sellers this year.
It’s pretty amazing to see that the Marlins were still playing .750 baseball until the last week in April, while the Nats didn’t crack .300 until May (and have since gone back under that mark). The Braves have been virtually stagnant for over a month, while the Mets and Phillies have been mirror images of one another’s performance for most of the year, passing each other 7 times so far.
