My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Jacob and Rachel Thies on the unexpected passing of their father, Gary. Mr. Thies commented several times on this site and was a very knowledgeable basketball fan. He had been planning to attend the Henderson State game next month, which would have been his first time to see a game at the Rhodes Field House.
If you read this, Jacob, I am deeply sorry for your family, and I can sympathize with you in this time of loss. My own father passed away about 2 1/2 years ago, but it was after a long battle with heart disease and diabetes. However, I can’t imagine losing a father suddenly.
I understand that Jacob and his family are at home in New Jersey, and that neither he nor Rachel plans to finish the current semester until January. I believe this is also the second family death of a team member this year. I think I remember hearing that Ceso Sprewell’s sister passed away before the season began. Please keep all of these affected people in your prayers.
