For those of you not in line to buy an iPhone, I have a few notes:
- I watched the NBA Draft last night with a couple of friends, even though it was mostly an excuse to talk about the Hawks’ new logo and fantasy football. Oden and Durant are interesting players, but I have a hard time getting excited about anyone, regardless of how strong this draft class is. Perhaps it’s the twice-as-long-as-it-needs-to-be regular season, but I’m worn out on the NBA by the time the playoffs come around. I can’t bring myself to watch any of the games unless it’s something truly compelling like the Mavs-Warriors series. And most of those games came on after 10:00 at night where I live, so I didn’t even watch them. I’ll stick to college basketball and continue my general apathy toward the NBA.
- While I’m on the NBA, Deadspin has a nice post about Mavs’ owner Mark Cuban, who is suing former Mavs and current Warriors coach Don Nelson for having “confidential information” that he used to beat the Mavs in the most embarrassing way possible. I think their reaction is appopriate, that Cuban has gone from “cool owner” to “certifiably insane.” For that reason, I dropped his blog from my feed reader a few months back (I’m sure he’s shaking now). His “I’m a wealthy entrepreneur so obviously I’m good at everything” persona is wearing thin for me.
- Check out this reporter, who like most of us, has had enough of the Paris Hilton “story”:
That’s all…I’m out for the weekend. And by out, I mean I still have to work this afternoon, and then I’ll be out.
I didn’t even know the Hawks had a new logo. Apparently they have new dark blue uniforms too. Reminds me of the Cavs, actually, whose dark blue uniforms I hate.
Then again, anything looks good on Al Horford.
I’m not sure where to start with that, so I’ll leave it alone.
Doug,
Would Joakim Noah’s dress look good on Al Horford?
